Mr. James joined Sumner Regional Health Systems in December 2004 and is responsible for the operations of 145-bed Sumner Regional Medical Center. Prior to joining SRHS, Mr. James was President of St. Michael Hospital (Milwaukee, WI) and Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer of Middle Tennessee Medical Center (Murfreesboro, TN). Mr. James began his healthcare career in 1980 as a management engineer and has held various administrative positions over the past 26 years.
Mr. James has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Georgia College and State University (Milledgeville, GA) and a Master of Science degree in Health Systems/ Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech (Atlanta, GA). Mr. James is a diplomate in the American College of Healthcare Executives. Mr. James has participated in numerous community and church activities in the communities in which he has lived. Since starting to work in Gallatin, he joined the local Rotary International club and serves on the Board of the Gallatin Shalom Zone.
Nicole Brashear
Vice President of Ancillary Services
Nicole Brashear has been with Sumner Regional Medical Center (SRMC) for nine years. She started her career at SRMC as an administrative resident. Through her tenure at SRMC she has served as the director of systems operation and executive director of support services. She is currently the vice president responsible for medical imaging, laboratory services, outpatient rehabilitation services, Sumner Home Care, the Endocrine and Diabetes Center, the catheterization lab and outpatient radiology.
Brashear is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, serves on the Board of Sumner County CASA and is an active member of Hermitage Church of Christ. Brashear previously served as chair for the strategic planning committee for the Nashville chapter of the American Red Cross. She received her bachelor of science degree in commerce and business administration with a concentration in health care management from University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, and her master of science degree in health care administration from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas.
Deborah J. Strickland, RN, MBA, CNAA-BC
Vice President of Clinical Services
Deborah Strickland joined Sumner Regional Medical Center in 2005. She is responsible for clinical and nursing services at the hospital. Prior to her current position at SRMC, Strickland served as Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services at Middle Tennessee Medical Center (Murfreesboro, TN). Strickland also held nurse management positions for Washington County Hospital Association in Hagerstown, Maryland before moving to Tennessee. She earned a Masters of Business Administration from Mount Saint Mary's College (Emmitsburg, MD) and a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from West Virginia Wesleyan College (Buckhannon, WV).
Strickland has held several leadership positions for community organizations including United Way, American Heart Association, and Leadership Rutherford. She is an active member of the Tennessee Organization of Nurse Executives, for which she has served as both a Board Member and a Legislative Representative. She served as Co-Chair for the Ascension Health Patient Safety Advisory Council, and was an Ascension Health Chief Nursing Officer Advisory Council Member. She currently serves as Chair for the Middle Tennessee Organization of Nurse Executives.
