Sumner Sleep Lab works with all types of sleeping disorders,
including:
- Sleep Apnea
A cessation of breathing for at least 10 seconds,
which may include gasping, gagging, choking or
snorting. This can result in excessive daytime fatigue or sleepiness.
- Insomnia
Chronic inability to sleep soundly
through the night; four or more awakenings
per night; taking longer than 30 minutes to fall
back asleep after
awakening;
or a combination of all of three.
- Narcolepsy
A syndrome of sudden, uncontrollable desire
to sleep. This can also involve sudden
loss of muscle control, inability to move
or involuntary loss of consciousness.
- Restless
Leg Syndrome (RLS)/Periodic Limb Movement (PLM)
RLS occurs when a person experiences
unpleasant sensations while awake that
cause an irresistible urge to move the legs
or arms. PLM occurs most often when a person
is asleep and is unconscious of the movements.
- Parasomnias
Movements occurring during sleep, such as sleep
walking, night terrors, bed-wetting
and grinding teeth.
The Sumner Sleep Lab offers different types
of tests to diagnose sleeping disorders:
- Nocturnal Polysomnography (NPSG-Sleep Study)
- Nocturnal
Polysomnography-Split (NPSG with Cpap if
needed)
- Nocturnal Polysomnography Titration
(Cpap titration)
