Digital mammography is the newest technology for breast cancer detection and will deliver more precise images of the breast to your radiologist and less radiation to you.

How should I prepare for a digital mammogram?

Preparation for digital mammography is similar to that of a traditional mammogram. From a patient's point of view, the digital mammography procedure is similar to a traditional analog mammogram.

• Wear comfortable clothing (preferably two pieces of clothing)
• No deodorant
• No powder
• Bring previous films that were not done at SRMC with you
