The goal of the Sumner Endocrine & Diabetes Center is to provide quality diabetes education to patients and their families in a caring environment. We help each patient learn to live with diabetes by developing a self-management plan of care designed to:

• Control diabetes on a day-to-day basis.


• Provide ongoing medical evaluation and guidance.


• Provide instruction in diabetes education and skills.


• Prepare individualized meal plans and nutritional instruction.

The Endocrine & Diabetes Center is located on the campus of Sumner Regional Medical Center and is recognized by the American Diabetes Association for meeting the National Standards for Diabetes Self-management Education.

Most insurance plans cover diabetes self-management training and medical nutrition classes. Patients need a physician referral for diabetes self-management training.
