Volunteers

Persons wanting to give their time and talents to make a difference in the lives of others are invited to join the SRMC Volunteer Team, where opportunities are provided for making new friends, helping others, broadening skills and knowledge, exploring a new career, and bringing happiness to those in need. Download a Volunteer Application or download a Junior Volunteer Application. Through their unselfish spirit of giving, volunteers enhance the mission of the hospital by giving very good service to our customers. Volunteers provide patients and visitors with extra services that are above and beyond the normal healthcare setting.

Hospital administration and staff appreciate volunteers who give of their time and resources without expectation of reward. Volunteer efforts are recognized through educational classes and forums, discounts, health screenings, hospital picnics, and holiday events.

Sumner Regional Medical Center’s Volunteer Auxiliary oversees fundraising events to support healthcare scholarships and to contribute to the health system. The Auxiliary sponsors a Spring Benefit Luncheon in March, a yearlong Lovelights program with lights sold in honor or in memory of loved ones, and more than twelve other fundraising events—all to benefit the scholarship program. Download the form to purchase a Lovelight.

The Scholarship Committee accepts applications until June 1 for qualifying students from Sumner and Trousdale Counties who are pursuing a degree in a health-related field. Download a Barbara Raines Medical Scholarship Application or pick one up at the Information Desk or in the Volunteer Office. Volunteers also manage the gift shop where profits are returned to the hospital for needed medical equipment.
